The Story
Tensas & The Mourners hit the stage with rhythm and noise that cut straight to the bone. The Colorado duo welds punk energy to roots rock storytelling, turning distortion and trumpet into something unmistakably their own.
Fronted by Tensas (vocals, guitar, harmonica, mandolin) and backed by Desha (drums, trumpet, piano, bass, vocals), the duo moves like a storm, switching instruments, trading energy, and tearing through sets that feel urgent and electric.
They’ve shared stages with Clyde McGee (Bridge City Sinners), Danbert Nobacon (Chumbawamba), Beans on Toast, and Jeshua Marshall & The Flood (Larry & His Flask), carrying the same relentless, do-it-yourself energy wherever they go! Whether on a festival stage or packed into a dive bar, Tensas & The Mourners deliver a performance that’s fierce, intentional, and fully alive.
When performing solo, Tensas brings the same intensity and conviction, proving the songs hit just as hard stripped down as they do full volume.
