Tensas & The Mourners are a dark Roots-Rock band that delivers an energetic performance of original music, with tales of bitter loss, turmoil and hollow victory that will incite and stir dark feelings within you. This Colorado based 3 piece was formed in early 2023 by Tensas, who is the founder and lead singer. Some say this​ act embodies the essence of ​Tom Waits blended with the energy of Gogol Bordello, always delivering an unforgettable and unique mix of rockin' roots, folk, punk, blues and more!

Tensas and his bandmate Desha started out performing live as drum/guitar duo like the White Stripes and evolved their sound further last Fall when the new bass player, Aloena, joined the band. They are known to mix things up and keep the crowd entertained by playing multiple instruments simultaneously at their live shows.

This past July, the band debuted their original song "Carnival" live on TV during FOX 21 Friday Feelz morning show. The Indy magazine labeled Tensas's songwriting as “Rocky Mountain Gothic” in a recent cover issue, while The Gazette defined his songs The Sickness and Lovely Bones as “two musical anthem’s of 2020 and all that it brought” referring to the pandemic in a featured music story in their Pulitzer prize winning news publication. Their latest “Let the River Speak” album recently made the Top 30 album charts at KGNU radio across the Denver/Boulder/Ft Collins area earlier this year, and is currenly recording a new album set to release in the Spring of 2024.
